How To Choose The Right Perfume For You

There are many women that never worn perfume till now or women that do not make the correct choices due to the fact that they do not actually know how to identify what is best. The truth is that it is quite hard to decide on one signature scent. Everything usually boils down to a personal preference but that does not mean that you do not need to consider other aspects. Let us see how to choose a really appropriate fragrance. Different Types Of Fragrances: Floral – this is most likely the one option that is the most appreciated. The scent can be that of any flower or a combination of different ones. Such perfumes are romantic and feminine. Great examples are found in the line of Chanel perfumes. Oriental – such a perfume is muskier, a little spicy and includes hints of clove, cinnamon and vanilla. Green – scents used in this case remind you of crushed leaves, cut grass and various other smells that are synonymous with an open space. Chypre – in this case we have perfumes that are woodsy scent and have hints of citrus, moss and oak. Oceanic – the scents used will be influenced by the ocean. They are clean and in many cases close to a masculine scent with the addition of citrus and spice. Fougere – in French, fougere means fern. This scent family is strong and in most cases you will find men’s fragrances that include hints of fresh herbs, moss and oak. Wood – the woody scent reminds you of the forest. Think about how sandalwood, cedar and pine smells like. Fragrance Notes In most cases a fragrance includes notes that you have to read. That is because a perfume has different scent layers that create a unique bouquet. The notes are basically the layers. As time passes since you used the fragrance, different layers are noticed. This means that what you smell when in the shop might be different by the time you arrive home. We thus have: Top Notes – these are the scents that you feel immediately after you apply the perfume. Middle Notes – these will appear as top notes start to dissipate and will make up most of the perfume’s scent. Base Notes – these are rich and will rarely be detected until half an hour passed since you used the fragrance. Overriding scent theme is given by this in combination with the middle notes. Choosing The Appropriate Fragrance Think about what you like, scents that truly mean something so that the perfume can be personal. Consider your personality. For instance, if you love outdoor life, clean, fresh scents are better. Always test before you buy. We already mentioned the notes so you want to be sure that you get the right fragrance. Most errors made while shopping appear as women and men just consider top notes. Ask Around for opinions. Talk to family members and friends about different perfumes. Use the internet to learn everything about the fragrance. The more information you have, the better the choice you will make! However, never forget about your personality and the necessity to test a perfume before buying. Google+
