Establish a Style and Dress Code Before you can even begin to pick out the pieces that your employees will wear, you need to establish a particular style and dress code that you’re going for. You might decide that a more casual approach is suitable to your business, or you may wish for everyone to wear formal suit pieces on a daily basis. Consider the tastes of your customers as well. You cannot expect employees to wear thin layers when the temperatures, even inside of the store, are a bit cooler than anyone is comfortable with. Look into some fashionable sweaters, vests and the like. If your business is more on the casual end, you may also allow them to wear sweatshirts or fleeces to keep warm. Incorporate Your Company Logo Remember, you are looking for clothes that are fashionable to wear in the workplace. While wearing clothing with the brand names spelled out across them might not be fashionable in the outside world, it is certainly something you want to do in the business domain. First of all, it gives you a chance to advertise some more, but it’s also better for the customers. When customers are walking around a busy store or business, they look for people who are wearing the company logo or tag when they are in need of assistance. Remember All of The Extras If you do not clearly define how employees should dress and present themselves at work, then you might end up with people who do things you don’t like. For example, let’s say that you allow employees to wear jeans with a company brand on the pockets. They might cut holes into the jeans to give them that “ripped” look that is fashionable these days. In the work environment, it looks sloppy. As soon as the employees have the new uniforms, let them know that any modifications are not acceptable.
