Almost every major designer in the world now manufactures top quality flat shoes like loafers, ballerinas and oxfords, as they are comfortable and trendy as well. Celebrities who usually swear by heels have also cashed in on the trend and you can see a huge range of popular brands like Stuart Weitzman flats on the feet of celebrities like Jessica Simpson and Julia Roberts. Flats are popular but wearing a flat shoe is difficult, as you have to match it to the correct outfit and occasion. If you don’t like flats and are wondering how to follow the trend, we have a few tips that should help you out. Trousers with flats — Flats work particularly well with jeans and leggings. However, we recommend you wear cropped pants that are a little shorter and end at the ankle with no cuffs. For a formal appearance, you can combine flats with tailored slim fit pants that are slightly flared at the ankle. If you are not comfortable with complete flats, we recommend you choose a flat with a small heel of about an inch. Skirts with flats — Flared skirts look great with flats. Even a dress with a flared skirt is great with flat shoes. You can wear ballerinas or strappy flats with the skirts and dresses and choose bright beautiful colors to bring out the colors in your dresses. Latest patterns — We recommend that you wear the latest fashions instead of boring old flats. For example, now tiger prints and metallic colors are trending on the catwalk and the style is available with retailers. Glittery flats suit nearly every outfit and you can combine strappy flats with dresses and pants for the best effects. General rules • Flats do well with flared dresses but we suggest you wear your hemline a little higher and combine it with leggings and a skirt. Flats tend to reduce the length of your leg and showing a little more leg will make you look taller. • Use self-colored tights with neutral-colored flats, as they tend to increase the visual length of your legs and make you look taller. If you don’t want to wear tights, you wear self-colored flats which will increase the visual length of your legs. • Choose unique shapes and designs to pull attention to your feet and legs. For example, leg lengthening round toes are ideal for larger body types and pointy toed flats are very beautiful but they are only for slim and petite women or tall women. • Wear flat boots as they work with nearly every outfit. You can extend the boot to your just below your knee and fit it to make your legs look longer. Just make sure you choose the right type and variety of boots as flat boots actually look more appealing that flat shoes. Take the time to review as many lookbooks as possible to understand how to wear flats. If you are used to heels, you may feel uncomfortable in the beginning but a flat shoe can be incredibly comfortable and easy to wear. Google+
